You’ll love our spectacular views. It would be hard to find a better spot in Portland—or maybe even in the whole state of Maine—to take in a sea breeze, a harbor view, and an endless parade of boats than the DiMillo’s foredeck.
Here once again but during a rare winter trip from Atlanta. Told my wife for my 50th I wanted real seafood so this is how we started our weekend away. Excellent food and service from beginning to end. Will be back in September.
This was a dream come true visit for me as I ve wanted to go here as far back as I can remember. My husband hates seafood, though, and although I told him they had other dishes I know he felt seafood being their specialty everything else would be just average. However, we were in Maine celebrating an early anniversary and he agreed to go. I cannot tell you how excited I was. br br When we arrived we were told it we would be a 20 minute wait, but it was closer to 10. We were seated and our waiter brought us fresh bread and took our drink orders. My husband ordered steak and I decided on the pecan crusted haddock. The interior was gorgeous! Loved the ambience here. We were seated by the windows and had a beautiful view of the water. I did feel a little dizzy at first as we were really rocking there for a minute yes, its literally a floating restaurant but it only lasted a couple of minutes. br br My husband said his steak ranked right up there with his favorite from texas roadhouse so he was happily surprised. My haddock was so good! I think I melted a bit. It was delicious! Perfectly cooked, too. For dessert we shared blueberry cobbler. The entire meal was amazing. I hope we get to go back again sometime.
Aside from the 45 minute wait to be seated for dinner on a Sunday, everything else at this restaurant was enjoyable. The waitress came by our table every few minutes to give us updates on our order and gave us suggestions on what to order. I highly recommend the fried calamari burger, and the mud pie. Also, in case you are new to the area, they have their own parking you just have to ask the front desk to validate the parking ticket on your way out.
This is one of mine and my wife s favorite restaurants in Portland!...Old School style type of place that has a good story behind it. I love the atmosphere being reminiscent of the past as well the service, food and drinks all being top notch. br br This time around I got the clam chowder and my wife chose the lobster stew...very good! For the 2nd round, I did the seared tuna app amp my wife went for the lobster roll...two thumbs up! br br We kept the drinks simple with myself optIng for Patron Silver on the rocks and my wife working the Mimosas! br br If you ve never given Dimillos a shot I recommend that you do amp Enjoy. br br Happy Trails!
