Tony DiMillo opened his first restaurant, "Anthony's" in 1954 on Fore Street where he boasted the slogan, "The clams you eat today, slept last night in Casco Bay"
Because of development in the area, Tony moved the restaurant to Center Street keeping the same name.
After a brief leave of absence from the restaurant business,
Tony opened yet another successful restaurant across
Commercial Street in 1965 known as "DiMillo's" on the
Waterfront". His specialty was lobster.
In 1978 Tony bought the dilapidated Long Wharf, built "DiMillo's Marina" and quickly filled all 120 boat slips.
In December 1982, "DiMillo's Floating Restaurant" opened her doors and became the only floating restaurant on the Upper East coast.
Today, Tony's sons are continuing to uphold the high standards he has maintained for over 40 years. There is always a DiMillo on board.
